Protecting Your Financial Information

Protecting your personal and financial information is a top priority to The First National Bank of Mount Dora. We will never ask you to provide account information via the internet or telephone. If you receive any phone calls or emails asking for this information, do not provide it, and report it to our Security Officer.

What You Can Do

  • Never provide the caller with personal or sensitive information that they should already have.
  • Configure your phone to only allow calls from trusted numbers in your phone’s Contacts or Address Book.
  • Be cautious if you do end up on the phone with someone you do not know. Pressure to take action now is most likely a scam. Hang up and call back using a trusted phone number.

Steps if Victimized

  • Call your bank and credit card issuers so they can take necessary steps to protect your account.
  • File a police report and call the fraud unit of the three credit‐reporting companies.
  • Keep a log of all the contacts you make with authorities regarding the matter. Write down names, titles, and phone numbers. You can also contact the FTC’s ID Theft Consumer Response center at 1-877-438-4338.
